Jackie Gorman, CEO of SAGE, was instrumental in helping ChildSafe find the beautiful 36 acre wooded track of land in the heart of the Eastside.
We are very excited to be on the Eastside and we are working with Jackie, members of the community, Commissioner Calvert, and Councilman Warrick to engage the entire Eastside community.
We want our new home to be a place of gathering and solace for everyone. Our beautiful, new, 64,000 square foot home will be located on 15 of the 36 acres adjacent to Martin Luther King (MLK) Park and the Salado Creek Linear Park.
We have been working with the City and City Parks department over the past year and this spring we will deed 21 of the 36 acres to the City of San Antonio. The 21 acres will become part of the existing MLK Park. We are working with the City Parks Department and hope to have trails leading from our property through the new MLK extension all the way down to the Salado Creek Trail by the time we move into the Harvey E. Najim Children and Family Center.
Connecting the families we serve and our staff with one of the many beautiful creeks in San Antonio and Bexar County while creating a place of healing and restoration.
